UltraDerm MedSpa Open House

Two weeks ago, the tropical flowers from Island Home and Garden were prominently displayed at UltraDerm MedSpa on Mission Drive for their annual Open House.  We were asked to create a green and white theme in each treatment room and a large arrangement for the reception area.  The event was very well attended and we received many compliments on the flowers, some of which we brought in especially from our Hawaiian shipper for the featured reception area vase.   Share...

Jim Fox Pottery

Just like a year ago, Jim Fox, from the Russian River area, appeared in his truck with a huge assortment of pottery vases to choose from. He told us that over the years, his clay work has evolved from the Raku process, to playing with glazes using metallic additives. The result is some very colorful vases of all shapes and sizes, influenced by being fired with zinc, copper, and nickel droplets. We also chose two lamp bases which will look extremely decorative in a home setting. This pottery makes wonderful gifts, and the vases lend themselves to the tropical flowers we carry at Island Home and Garden! Share...

Take Home a Cut Bouquet!

Our fresh flowers from Hawaii take pride of place at Island Home and Garden, and we encourage our customers to consider a cut bouquet to take home and place in a vase of their choosing. All of the stems and foliage are sold by the stem, and can be purchased in any combination – Barb and Robyn will happily wrap them to make them look even more appealing! They make wonderful gifts, and a stem of tuberose (when in season) or a stargazer lily adds a unique fragrance.  Going to a lunch date, or finishing errands? We will put the stems in water tubes to ensure their longevity! Some of the individual blooms (and their prices) are shown below: Heliconia – the ‘giant’ of our tropicals, it comes in many different colors and has a very thick stem -$15 each Ginger – very tall bloom, in pink or red – $5 each Bird of Paradise – always a favorite, in bright orange – $5 each Anthirrium – we get a beautiful selection every week, and they are SO long lasting – $3 (small) to $5-7 (large) Orchids – these colorful stems come from Hawaii and Thailand – $5-8 per stem Share...
